Ferries to the Isle of Man

You can travel to the Isle of Man from England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland using the quaintly named Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

Steam Pcket, founded in 1830, operates frequent ferry services to Douglas from Heysham, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin. There is also a limited summer service between Douglas and Larne.

The Isle of Man’s 227 square miles lay in the Irish Sea, between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. It is a self-governing kingdom with around 80,000 inhabitants, most of whom live in Douglas and Ramsey.

Getting around

Once on the island there are many public buses and a steam railway line to help you get around. Alternatively, you can travel around by car, and can hire one oif you need to. The towns are well-connected by road, but wah-tch out for motorbikes, especially during the world famous Isle of Man TT races in June.

The Isle of Man relaxed pace of life and wealth of attractions makes it a wonderful place to stay.

The capital of Douglas offers a great variety of accommodation, holiday attractions and other visitor facilities with first-class shopping. It is 16 miles from the coastal town of Ramsey, 12 miles from Castletown on the south coast and 11 miles from the west coast port of Peel.
