Smyril Line was established in 1982 to provide a passenger and vehicle ferry service on the North Atlantic linking Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Scotland/Shetland, Norway and Denmark.

Its regular and reliable North Atlantic service is operated by the modern ferry the Norrona, built in 2003, which can carry up to 1,482 passengers and 800 cars, with a top speed of 21 knots.
Each of its cabins includes a sofa bed, which is ideal for relaxing during the day, and resting at night.
All cabins have en-suite facilities including a bath, a TV, wardrobes a small desk and personal fridge. And all the outside cabins have panoramic windows.
Passengers can take a swim in the pool or use the onboard gym and sauna. There is a good selection shops, a children’s play area, and well positioned outboard lounges with amazing views across the North Atlantic.
Smyril Line offers up to two departures per week on the following routes: Esbjerg - Torshaven - Seysdisfjordur and return Hanstholm - Torshaven - Seysdisfjordur and return.
Passengers must be at the check-in counter 90 minutes before departure.
