Ferry Christmas! Arrival of €144m cruise-ferry W.B. Yeats is a festive cracker for Irish Ferries

Irish Ferries have been celebrating Christmas in style with the arrival of its €144m new cruise-ferry, the W.B. Yeats.

The ferry is set to enter service on the Irish Sea, where she will be the largest and most technically advanced ferry in operation.

The W.B. Yeats arrives in Dublin ahead of operating services to Holyhead throughout the winter

The W.B. Yeats will sail in style between Holyhead and Dublin throughout the winter, supporting existing ferries Ulysses and Epsilon on the busiest route between the UK and Ireland.

This ship offers a cruise-style experience and comfort for up to 1,800 passengers, with a dedicated car deck providing capacity for 300 passenger cars and deck space of 2,800 lane metres for up to 165 freight vehicles.

The 440 spacious cabins include luxury suites with private balcony sea views and a dedicated butler service.

Passenger areas feature illustrated works of art and literature from W. B. Yeats and other artists, while downloadable audio extracts from the Irish poet’s celebrated catalogue provide the backdrop to a unique walking tour.

The literary theme continues throughout the ship, as guests are invited to dine in the Lady Gregory Restaurant, enjoy a snack in the Maud Gonne Bar & Lounge or immerse themselves in the magic of movies and family fun entertainment at The Abbey and The Peacock cinemas.

Andrew Sheen, Managing Director of Irish Ferries, said: “The introduction of this magnificent new ship offers travellers unrivalled comfort and we look forward to welcoming passengers onboard to sail in style.”
