Robbie Drummond, who has been steering Calmac Ferries as interim managing director since February, has been given the job for real.

“CalMac Ferries’ key task in the period ahead is to fulfil all of its commitments to its customers, stakeholders and to Transport Scotland under the terms of the CHFS 2 Contract, now in its second year. Robbie’s appointment will help us deliver these and reinforce our commitments to our communities.”

Drummond said: ‘It is a huge honour to be appointed as managing director of CalMac at a very exciting time in the evolution of West coast ferry services and I am looking forward to continuing the improvements and customer-focus set out in the bid.”
