LD Lines’ new Norman Leader ferry launch offer for 2011

LD Lines has introduced a special launch offer for travel in 2011 to coincide with the introduction of its new ferry, Norman Leader, on the Portsmouth – Le Havre route.

The fare of from £82.50 each way, based on a 5-day return for a car and two passengers, is available for travel from May 1, 2011.

Norman Leader, currently under construction in Singapore, is due to be delivered in early Spring and enter service in May 2011.

The ferry has capacity for 1,215 passengers and combination of either 67 lorries and 200 cars or 44 lorries and 400 cars.

On board facilities include 162 passenger cabins, self-service and commercial drivers’ restaurant, café, pub, shop, children’s play area, first class lounge with 138 sleeper seats, bar and internet café and additional lounge with 190 reclinable seats and bar.

LD Lines’ Managing Director, Christophe Santoni said: “The introduction of Norman Leader represents a firm commitment from the company to continue to invest and develop this established service between Portsmouth and Le Havre.

“In terms of facilities and passenger comfort, the ferry has been specifically designed for the route and we are very confident that she will prove to be a popular addition with customers to the LD Lines’fleet”.

Norman Leader will operate the overnight 2300 service from Portsmouth and return 1700 day sailing from Le Havre.

LD Lines’ route network includes : Portsmouth – Le Havre ; Newhaven – Dieppe ; Ramsgate – Ostend and the recently launched France (St Nazaire-Nantes) – Spain (Gijón) service.
