Northlink all fired up for Up Helly Aa
NorthLink Ferries clearly believes in forward planning and has added an additional day-time sailing from Aberdeen to Lerwick on Saturday January 28 to cater a likely boost in travellers heading for Shetland's Up Helly Aa, Europe’s largest fire festival.

The festival, which draws visitors from all over the world, takes place on Tuesday, January 31, and this time around falls within the nine-week period when NorthLink’s three passenger ro-ro ferries will be undergoing their statutory survey and overhaul programme.
So to accommodate Up Helly Aa travellers, NorthLink will run an additional day-time service from Aberdeen to Lerwick on Saturday January 28.
It is intended the vessel will depart from Aberdeen at 1000 and arrive in Lerwick at 2000. On the same day the vessel will return to Aberdeen, leaving Lerwick at 2200 and arriving in Aberdeen at 0800 the following morning.
