Red Funnel appoints Monarch Airlines boss as new Chief Executive

Isle of Wight ferry operator Red Funnel has appointed Monarch Airlines boss Kevin George as its new Chief Executive.

From 2 January Kevin will provide Red Funnel with a wealth of experience from the travel and tourism sector and has a strong strategic background.

At Monarch Airlines Kevin was the managing director, having previously held senior roles in operations and customer services.

Prior to joining Monarch, Kevin held a range of senior management positions in British Airways, and was instrumental in many key product and service developments, including the customer experience at Heathrow Terminal 5.

A keen sailor, Kevin is a qualified yachtmaster and is very familiar with both the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

Kevin George commented, “I look forward to the challenges of improving the guest experience to even higher levels to ensure Red Funnel remains the first choice for cross-Solent ferry travel and holidays.”
